die ersten Festspiele Südtirol wurden am vergangenen Freitag feierlich und mit großem Erfolg eröffnet. Sie finden im Kulturzentrum Grand Hotel Toblach, nur wenige Minuten vom Hotel Adler, statt. Dort hat Gustav Mahler seine letzten drei Sommer verbracht und zwei wesentliche Werke der Musikgeschichte geschrieben: Das Lied von der Erde und die 9. Symphonie.

all’insegna del tutto esaurito nella Sala Gustav Mahler del Grand Hotel di Dobbiaco è stato inaugurato venerdì scorso il primo Alto Adige Festival, a pochi minuti dall‘ Hotel Adler. Quí Gustav Mahler trascorse le ultime tre estati della sua vita componendo due colonne portanti della storia della musica: Il Canto della Terra e la Sinfonia n° 9.

The first South Tyrolean Festival opened last Friday in Toblach with great success. The Grand Hotel Cultural Centre is located only a few minutes from Hotel Adler. It was here where Gustav Mahler spent his last three summers and wrote two major works highlighted in the annals of music history.
The song of the Earth and the Ninth symphony in D which are also the festival highlights conducted by Gustav Kuhn and Andreas Schett.
